Finding My Passion

What’s your Passion?

Have you found your passion?

We can have many passions in life. It doesn’t have to be just one thing. Nor does it have to be income producing. It doesn’t have to be your job. It can be a hobby, an activity or a calling. It can be a part of your life, like cooking or caring for your family. It may be volunteering at the local animal rescue compound. Whatever it is for you, it is something you love doing. And when you’re doing it, time seems to fly without you noticing it.

Are you still looking for your passion? Or are you living it and don’t realise?

After years of being stuck in a rut going through the motions of life without joy or passion, I found the courage to shed many activities, responsibilities and even friendships that were no longer serving me. When I turned my life around, I had to start afresh. I needed strength to rebuild relationships and I needed time to find activities to light me up. Things that once interested me, no longer did it for me. They felt like a burden rather than fun and fulfilling. I needed to once again find my passion.

During a meditation one day when I was feeling stuck, going nowhere but with a strong desire to contribute to the lives of others, I asked my angels “What is my next step?” The answer I received was unexpected and confusing. “Buy a camera.”  I’d wanted to buy a ‘proper’ camera, a DSLR for a long time but always found an excuse to not spend the money. And apart from that, I didn’t know what to look for in a camera. The world of photography was foreign to me and I didn’t speak the same language. I didn’t understand the message. Why would I need to buy a camera? How could I justify the extravagance? I also didn’t trust that I got the message right. So I didn’t act on it. But the thought kept niggling at me like an itch that needed scratching. I spoke to my husband about it and we both decided it wasn’t a priority at the time.

A few months later he noticed an online special for a camera. A red hot deal for $99. It was a point and shoot camera but I had to start somewhere. The price was good, so I started investigating the specs. The megapixels. The zoom. The added features. It looked like a good deal to me. While I was still doing my online research to make sure it was a decent camera and a good price, my husband was already entering his credit card details. He’s not a procrastinating perfectionist like me. The camera arrived a few days later just before my nephew’s wedding. I was excited to start practicing with my new toy.

A month later, I signed up for a photography class with my local U3A and joined their Snappers photography group. I wanted to get the most out of my camera. Members of the group had a variety of cameras, ranging from small point and shoots to DSLRs. My camera was in between. It was a top end of the point and shoots at that time and it had some features that you’d normally only find on a DSLR. Step by step, I started to learn the language of photography. I realised my husband had snapped up a great deal on the camera he’d bought, while I was still procrastinating. Cameras with similar specs and functionality were about three times the price we paid.

I started going on photo shoots with the U3A group and learning from fellow members. I was hooked. I soon wanted a better camera. I needed a DSLR. I spent a few months investigating the best camera for me. It seemed the best brands were either Canon or Nikon? Intuitively I felt more comfortable with a Canon, so I started there. There were so many models. I narrowed my search down to three then went into shops and played with them until I decided which one felt right. I found a great deal and became a proud owner of a Canon 70D. Once I had the camera, I wanted different lenses. And filters. And high speed memory cards. And a spare battery. And… I had to stop somewhere. There are still a few accessories I’d like but I can wait for them. I soon realised there is always something else you want to buy to support a hobby like photography. Something better. Something extra. You always have a wish list. I also realised that you don’t need all those extras to take good photos. Like everything in life, you need to start where you are. So for now, I’m happy to keep my trainer wheels on and learn how to best use what I’ve got. Having the most extensive or expensive gear doesn’t make you the best photographer.

I have a passion for photography

It’s been just over a year since I bought my first DSLR camera. I enjoy taking photos and sharing my pics with others so they too can enjoy them. My photography is simple. I love capturing the beauty of nature. Flowers. Landscapes and Seascapes. Things with wings – birds, butterflies and dragonflies. But I don’t neglect people. I also like doing family shoots and capturing each person’s individual personality or nature.

I have ignited my passion by finding photography. I’m pleased I listened to the message I received from my angels during that meditation, even if it took me a little while to act on it. I hope you enjoy my photos.

Shower of Abundance Daily Guidance card

To heal your financial situation, first give us your worries concerning money. We will guide you in order to show you how to create and accept abundance. As we work together, your financial situation will heal as fast as you’ll allow.

Although many of us associate abundance only with our finances or material possessions, abundance simply means a copious supply or plenty. Abundance is available in many non-physical forms such as having plenty of time to do the things we want, opportunities, love, health, friendship or ideas.

What blocks us from having a copious supply of anything is often our fear. Fear of not having enough or fear of losing what we have. Our fears can cripple us from achieving that which we truly desire. When we vibrate fear, lack and scarcity we are ordering more of the same from the Universe. To turn this around, we need to change our vibration to that of love and gratitude. Feeling truly blessed for everything we have in our lives, the non-physical as well as the material possessions changes our vibration. Our feelings create our vibration and this is the language of the Universe. Through our vibration, we attract things which have a similar frequency, things such as people, experiences and even money.

Have you ever noticed when you’re in a bad mood or you are angry or upset about something, you seem to attract more of the same? When you are vibrating negativity, you’ll find many things throughout your day to feel angry, upset or negative about. If you continue to emit this vibration and engage in gossiping and complaining all the time, you’ll find more and more things to complain about, including all those people who are ‘lucky’ because everything always goes their way. These people aren’t lucky, they are merely vibrating a higher frequency. To help raise your frequency, start by adopting an attitude of gratitude and a daily practice of finding things in your life you love and feel blessed to have. Things such as your ability to get out of bed in the morning, being able to hug your loved ones, your comfortable lounge chair, the quiet street where you live, the beauty you find in nature, the smell of a rose or freshly cut grass. The list is endless. I challenge you to add five new things that you are truly grateful for, each day to add to your list. Pretty soon, you will have raised your vibration and will be attracting more of the things you truly love.

This is how you can attract abundance into your life. An abundance of love, time, opportunities or finances. Allow yourself to receive a shower of abundance. Raise your vibration, ask your angels for help and act on those surprising or unexpected answers you get without rationalising them. When we ask our angels for help, we need to be open to receiving and accepting their assistance. This often comes in the form of a thought or opportunity that is unexpected or may seem unrelated to our request, and we either dismiss it or explain it away. It is those thoughts that pop into our head when we least expect them that can be the answer to our prayers.

I get messages from songs I find myself singing in my head, songs I haven’t heard recently. When this happens, I take notice of the words. This past week I lost a dear friend and colleague, Joy who was also my spiritual healer and mentor. Since her passing, and even before I knew she had passed, I had this song in my head. You know those songs that keep playing over and over in your head and you find yourself singing it without conscious awareness. Well the song I was singing was Joy to the World, or as it is commonly known, Jeremiah was a Bullfrog, made famous by Three Dog Night first released in 1970, with the lyrics: ‘Joy to the world. All the boys and girls. Joy to the fishes in the deep blue sea. Joy to you and me.’

Remembering my beautiful friend, Joy who is now at peace, you certainly brought a lot of joy to the world.

Joy #2

Messages From Your Angelsfriends laughter

by Kaye Hazel, Angel Intuitive

Today’s message is JOY (again!)

‘Joy is the highest energy of all. It’s the magical sense that everything is possible. Joy springs from appreciating the gifts within each moment. Joy allows you to attract and create your present and future moments at their highest possible levels.’

It seems many of you didn’t get the message yesterday. I shuffled the cards and asked what message most people need today and … they gave me the same card as yesterday! They want me to make sure you get this message.

Our angels are with us all the time and we can call on them for assistance with anything, at anytime.

They are there to guide us in all areas of our lives. Nothing is too big or too small for them – all you need do is ask.

Once you have asked, it is up to you to listen and then act on the guidance you receive – this can sometimes be a bit tricky if you are used to always being ‘in your head’. It is unlikely you will hear a loud voice giving you directions or answering your questions, but just notice what shows up for you. If a thought pops into your head or you get a ‘gut feeling’ about something, go with it.

The angels want me to emphasise that it is time for YOU to figure out what brings YOU joy … then it is up to YOU to bring more of that into your life. The best way to do this is to recall moments in your life when you have been in-joy rather than thinking about what might give you joy.

Accessing an actual memory is more powerful than trying to think something up. Remembering joyful times, even if it was only for a minute, is better than trying to seek the unattainable moments or things that we think might bring us joy …  one day.

Joy, elation, pleasure, happiness – these are all things we feel not think, so we need to find them in our heart and not in our head. It is often in those little things in life where we find true JOY – the smile, the touch, the sight, the sense of taste or smell. And that feeling may only be fleeting, but when we notice it, we are anchoring it into our subconscious where it is stored forever. The secret is in noticing.

Notice … be aware … be mindful.

Become an observer of your life for a day and notice how you are acting and reacting. Are you having more positive thoughts than negative ones? If not, do something to change the ratio. We need at least 3 positive thoughts to cancel out every negative thought but an ideal ratio is at least 5 to 7 positive thoughts to every negative thought.

From the Healing Cards of Caroline Myss and Peter Occhiogrosso, they ask us to consider the amazing possibility that we were born just to experience the joy of being alive. ‘The soul is on Earth for its own delight.’

Would you change your day or your life, if you knew your soul purpose for being here is to experience joy?

Do you even know what gives you joy?

When was the last time you laughed out loud?

What brightens your day and adds a smile to your dial?

Notice those joyful moments today, then tomorrow, then everyday.

Joy

Messages From Your Angels

by Kaye Hazel, Angel Intuitive.jump for joy GIMP

This message is from Doreen Virtue’s Daily Guidance from Your Angels oracle card pack. If you are reading this, then this message is for you.

Today’s message is JOY

‘Joy is the highest energy of all. It’s the magical sense that everything is possible. Joy springs from appreciating the gifts within each moment. Joy allows you to attract and create your present and future moments at their highest possible levels.’

What brings you joy? When was the last time you laughed out loud? Take the time today to stop and appreciate those things in your life that fill your heart with joy and love. A beautiful sunset. The smell of a rose. Your loving / playful pet. The taste of coffee or chocolate.

In the fast pace that many of us live our lives today, it’s easy to miss all the small things that make us smile or make our life easier. By being present in the moment and noticing these things, we open the door to noticing more and more. When we appreciate what we have and all of our experiences, our life is enriched. Awareness or mindfulness is the first step to bringing more joy into your life.

Starting a gratitude list or journal is a great way to remind us to appreciate the good things in our lives.

I challenge you to start today and find at least five things that bring you joy and to speak these out loud or write them in a journal.

Then tomorrow, add another five things, and the next day, the same. But, they have to be different things each day. This is a good exercise to do at the end of each day or first thing in the morning.

Appreciating and loving things in your life will bring you more things to love and be grateful for. That is how the laws of the Universe work. When you adopt this exercise as a daily practice, you also start to notice more things in your life that you do appreciate or that bring you joy. Make a commitment to try this for a week, then at the end of the week if you are feeling more joyful, commit to another week. You’ll be surprised at how quickly you can feel better.

Do something today that brings you joy, even if that is noticing the beautiful clear skies or soaking up the energy and warmth of the sun. Enjoy the embrace of a nice warm shower, or the smile of a stranger you pass in the street. Find the joy in whatever you are doing. A word of caution, joy, like laughter can be contagious. So spread your joy around, the world can always do with more joy.
