Who is Kaye Hazel?
How do we define ourselves? Is it by our accomplishments, our relationships, our mission or our core values? Maybe it is by all of these things? Or none of them?
We’re made up of lots of pieces, together these pieces make us who we are. We just need to figure out how all the pieces fit together.
I see life much like a jigsaw puzzle. Some pieces are colourful, some edgy, some look like they don’t belong. We can’t appreciate the whole picture by only looking at any one piece of the puzzle. It’s often not until later in life once we’ve connected a number of the pieces, that we start to see the bigger picture of our life emerge. It is truly a magical time, when we realise we can create our own canvas and no one can keep us in the box any longer.
As a pharmacist, I have been involved in the provision of health care advice and treatments for over 35 years. I have a passion for helping people with their health care needs and empowering them to take control of their own health and their life. I assist people to gain knowledge and acceptance of themselves, their conditions and their treatments. My pharmacy qualifications include a Bachelor of Pharmacy, a Masters in Clinical Pharmacy and an Advanced Diploma in Nutritional Pharmacy.
I established my business, Angel Medicine for the purpose of offering healing options to cover all aspects of our life; our emotional, mental and spiritual health as well as our physical health. These options include energy medicine techniques, or ways of using energy as our medicine. Energy medicine provides people with more choices about how to heal themselves, and it works well with, and complements conventional or allopathic medicine. Angel Medicine is about therapy for our mind, body and spirit.
I accept a broad definition of health as not merely the absence of disease but that which encompasses a state of total well being. This holistic approach not only involves our physical health, but also our mental, emotional and spiritual health. Our health is impacted by what we think, feel and believe. I believe that many, if not all medical conditions and diseases have emotional causes or contributing factors. If not originating in this lifetime, these emotional factors have an origin in past lives.
The Evolution of My Career
I’ve always strived to make a difference in the lives of others. How I achieved this has evolved over time. I started my career working as a community pharmacist and loved being able to support my clients with their health care needs. I then expanded the level of support I could provide by visiting clients in their home and reviewing their health care needs with them in a more relaxed setting.
These one on one consults allowed me to help them on a deeper level than what I could within the four walls of a pharmacy. I then expanded my work even further to provide education and mentoring to other pharmacists and to medical practitioners.
At some stage, I questioned what health meant to me and recognised there was much more to it than our physical health and disease management. I knew our emotional health as well as our mental and spiritual health were all just as important as our physical health. There is a co-dependent and synergistic relationship between all these aspects of health.
I adopted the belief that we can not ignore what is happening in our life if we want to have optimum health. This concept was encompassed by holistic physician and author, Dr Bernie Siegel when he stated, ‘healing is about your life ~ not your body.’
With a new-found understanding of the role our emotional, mental and spiritual health has on our physical health, I changed how I delivered health care to my clients. I started to also provide energy medicine services, workshops and meditation classes to support all aspects of my clients’ health and well-being. I call on the spiritual realms for guidance and support for myself and for my clients. I also communicate healing messages through the written word in articles, social media sites and on my website.
My career has always been consistent with my desire to make a difference in the lives of others. The way I achieve this keeps evolving as my view of life changes.
I was orphaned at nine years old and homeless at seventeen.
I always felt different from everyone else. Never felt like I belonged anywhere.
As a child, I wasn’t supported in my grieving and unknowingly carried this into my adult life. I thought I had dealt with it, after all, I couldn’t change anything. But decades after my parents had died, feelings of profound sadness, heartache, emptiness and despair started to consume my life.
In an effort to heal myself and feel ‘normal’, I embarked on a spiritual journey of self discovery to understand more about myself and about the meaning of life. I sought answers from the metaphysical and spiritual healing arena, despite my advanced training and experience in the clinical health setting.
My amazing journey led me to shift my focus from physical healing and the medical model of healing to emotional healing and energy medicine. I became an avid seeker of spiritual knowledge with a keen interest in the Afterlife. I gained training and experience in numerous healing modalities including Seraphim Angelic Healing, Pranic Healing, Crystal Light Healing, Chakra Balancing, Essence of Angels, Shell Essences, Angel Intuitive, Meditation, Emotional Freedom Techniques and Quantum Touch. I studied the principles of the Law of Attraction and became a Certified Law of Attraction Practitioner.
In 2010, after ten years of searching for my answers and gaining training and experience in the various healing modalities, I had a major shift in my life. Several synchronistic events over a couple of weeks changed my view of the world forever and my life transformed. For the first time in my life, I felt free. Free from a lifetime of emotional and mental suffering.
I’ve always been a sensitive and emotional person; an empath, but it wasn’t until later in my life, that I recognised these attributes as a gift to be honoured and not something to feel embarrassed about. My emotional sensitivity increased as I got older and I now accept this as part of my nature.
I believe that my life purpose is to help those, like myself who were wounded during their childhood, by loss and abuse. It is our core wounds that set us up for our life’s purpose and allow us to further understand who we are and why we’re here. These wounds generally occur during childhood when we are least able to cope with them or to understand them. As Master Dream Coach, Marcia Wieder states “Been to hell. Lived to tell about it. Transmuted it into love. Must be here to teach about it.”
I want others to know that no matter what their wounding was from childhood, healing of that wound is possible. It is possible to free ourselves from our childhood traumas, no matter how old we are. It is possible to love ourselves for who we are, no matter who that may be. And it is possible to live our best life, no matter what that may be.
